Police Minister sets up task team to probe politically motivated violence

Police Minister Nkosinathi Nhleko has established a special task team to investigate and try to prevent political killings.

The team includes Crime Intelligence officers, Hawks detectives and other specialised units.

The aim is to probe these recent killings that have taken place and where possible to prevent further violence. In this regard Crime Intelligence will play a very important role prevent incidents from taking place.

Nhleko's announcement follows a number of violent incidents. In KwaZulu Natal three ANC members were killed in 48-hours last week.

EFF members were shot and wounded during the EFF rally in Mpumalanga.
