Ward 67 Councillor Sihlwele Myeki says that there is a need to strengthen working relationships between the community and government bodies for Yeoville to develop.
Service delivery in the area will play an important role ahead of the municipal elections in August.
According to Myeki, illegal trading, littering and illegal dumping contributes to the congestion in Yeoville rubbish on the streets.
He says there is a need for civic education to curb these issues.
Myeki says that he and other leaders have also lobbied for the community police forum to train and dispatch street patrollers to alleviate crime.
