10 June 2016 12:18 PM
The SA firefighters who are returning to the country after going on strike while deployed in Canada dominated the #OpenLine.

The South African firefighters who were deployed to Canada to assist relief operations and later went on strike for higher pay dominates the #OpenLine.

The firefighers, who earned $15 a day (approximately R220 a day), are on their way back to South Africa as a result of the fall out.

702/Cape Talk's #FridayStandIn Neo Muyanga, gave listeners an opportunity to share their thoughts regarding various issues across the spectrum.

Listen to the conversation below:

This might be a genuine strike because who in these times can trust government? They might be thinking that their money is being taken by corrupt officials.

Michael, caller in Roodepoort

Seth, caller in Franschhoek

Were these firefighters not given contracts before they left South Africa? Everywhere we go, we're making a mess.

Sam, caller in Florida

Ross, caller in Thornton
