Generations: The Legacy returns to number one spot

The rebranded television soapie Generations: The Legacy has reclaimed its position as the highest rated soapie in South Africa.

This comes after months of mixed reactions, following the dismissal of 16 cast members in 2014.

Entertainment journalist Tinashe Venge says that the soapie has proven it's great script-writing, production value and ensemble cast, is a winning formula.

It's a testament to a powerful brand.. and the belief that no one star or group of stars is bigger than the show.

Tinashe Venge, entertainment journalist

He says that creator and executive producer Mfundi Vundla still has his work cut out for him, as the soapie is pitted against other popular shows such as SABC 1's Uzalo.
