Political instigators behind #TshwaneUnrest, says ANC's Zizi Kodwa

ANC national spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says that authentic party members would never cause the violent destruction seen in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.

He says the unrest has been caused by saboteurs who are advancing their own political interests, using the name of the ANC.

Kodwa warns against uninformed commentary about the party's internal selection processes, and insists that Thoko Didiza was not imposed as the Tshwane mayoral candidate.

He says the party is tired of in-fighting and members who are more loyal to individuals than the movement itself.

Meanwhile, political analyst Prince Mashele says that factionalism within the Tshwane ANC is undeniable and has led to the violent protests which have erupted in Atteridgeville.

Mashele says the unrest in Pretoria is the outcome of earlier predictions of the fall of the ruling party.

He says the ANC is being destroyed by factionalism, corruption and lack of credible leadership.
