Veteran journalist Hope Zinde laid to rest

Hundreds of people gathered at the Hellenic Community Centre to bid farewell to the former SABC board member and veteran journalist, Hope Zinde.

A number of dignitaries, including the ANC deputy secretary- general, Jessie Duarte and Small Business Minister, Lindiwe Zulu, applauded her for her role in the ANC and SABC.

Xolani Gwala spoke to EWN reporter, Thando Kubheka, who was at the funeral.

ANC's Jessie Duarte says Zinde was one of the people who helped developing ruling party's communication policies. They also say that they will remember her for her character; saying that she was a woman of caliber, she was a go-getter, she stood her ground.

Zinde was found murdered over a week ago, her body left in the boot of her car at the Pecanwood Estate in Hartbeespoort Dam. Her son has been charged with her murder and he was also found in possession of drugs.
