After consulting with the community in Atteridgeville, which included disgruntled ANC members, ANC NEC member Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, says they will now report back to the ANC secretary-general.

Protesting ANC members say they are angry that outgoing mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa was not made the ANC's Tshwane mayoral candidate.

Mostoaledi says the name of Ramokgopa was not on the list submitted to the NEC.

We are here because we are divided down in the middle. If we're not, the NEC wouldn't have been here.

It's not true that we dictated, we have followed the process, the same process everywhere and they asked for intervention. It's not the first time that the ANC has intervened in this manner.
