The 702 Truck of Love with Spar

John Robbie and the 702 Truck of Love drop in at Rea i-Ketsetsa in Diepsloot

Nomsa Radebe saw children walking long distances from their homes to school. She realised that most of these children go to school hungry and don’t have any regular meals during the entire day.

So she decided to open the Rea i-Ketsetsa drop in centre. A place where children would have soft porridge in the morning and a cooked meal for lunch after school. At Rea i-Ketsetsa children are helped with their homework and looked after before going home.

The children that come into the drop in centre get bread to take home for their families. Nomsa says most of the people that live in Diepsloot ext. 12 are unemployed and don’t have documentation (IDs for themselves and Birth certificates for their children). Nomsa does not get funding from the government and is dependent on donations from a church in Midrand and a other sponsors. 702 decided to reward Nomsa for her hard work by sending the Truck of Love laiden with goods, courtesy of our generous sponsor Spar.
