City of Joburg Mayor, Parks Tau, says that he is confident of an outright win at the 2016 polls on 3 August.
This weekend, the African National Congress (ANC) celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Freedom Charter and launched the Joburg Manifesto for the 2016 local government elections.
702's John Robbie spoke to him regarding their policy interventions that will take the party forward. Listeners also got a glimpse into Tau's family life, where he spoke of how proud he was of his son who has joined an anti drug campaign in Eldorado Park. Tau said his son, who was in rehab, is now an activist and he's very proud of him.
Tau insisted the governing party's internal report suggests that they are in a strong position to continue to be a majority party in Johannesburg.
