NSPCA responsible for hair-raising dog fighting ad

If you were left outraged after seeing the Bryanston billboard, advertising a dog fighting event, then the NSPCA has achieved its aim.

The advertisement was part of a campaign by the NSPCA to raise awareness about the shocking realities of dog fighting in South Africa.

Pictures of the billboard went viral on social media sites on Monday, prompting many people to inundate the NSPCA with reports.

The NSPCA apologises for alarming the public though thanks them for their passionate follow-ups in this regard.

Wendy Wilson, Chief Inspector at the NSPCA, says dog fighting is illegal in South Africa and has been since 1945.

Every aspect of dog fighting is illegal and everyone who is involved in it is liable for prosecution.

Wendy Wilson, Chief Inspector at the NSPCA.

It’s an organised crime and is linked to many other crimes. Every aspect of dog fighting makes money; charging people, breeding the dogs, betting etc.
