Thuli targets illegal "deathtrap" taxi conversions

Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela, is holding a three-day hearing on the regulatory challenges concerning the alleged illegal conversion of panel vans into minibus taxis.

Former banking executive and campaigner Hennie de Beer, says Toyota SA warned of the danger of these illegal conversions to Quantum panel vans which has caused many fatal accidents.
