How to raise siblings with vastly different abilities

Talents and abilities in Siblings can manifest very different talents and abilities. You may have one child who is constantly getting A's and another who is an average C student.

Dr Schomer says it may be a difficult situation for parents to watch, as one child become discouraged when outperformed by another.

He says there is no one size fits all manual for parenting, but encourages parents to listen and foster children's aptitudes and talents that will make them shine.

We need to remember that the key to a child's future behaviour is your reaction. You as an adult, you choose your reactions.

Parents should learn how to separate feelings from behaviour, he says. Clear boundaries needs to be set for every child regarding the rules of the family, and the consequences for breaking those rules.

If you want to raise children with different aptitudes, you follow through with the enforcement of the consequences, the same way for each child
