South Africa's youth critical of their job prospects - GIBS survey

A survey by Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) on high school students reveal a drop in believing that South Africa to be ideal for a successful career.

This is a significant drop, compared to the 2012 results which saw 74% of the youth surveyed holding positive sentiment towards their job prospects in the country.

702/Cape Talk's Gugulethu Mhlungu (standing in for Redi Tlhabi) spoke to programme manager at GIBS, Jadey Bosman, on what we can deduce from the data gathered.

Listen to the interview below:

There's an increase in interest in policits in South Africa, we've found that they are engaging with politics on a daily basis.

Jadey Bosman, GIBS programme manager

GIBS has been running the survey for 8 years, the survey considers socio-economic and political developments in the country.

The youth are tired of being under the radar, they want to be at the forefront of finding solutions to the problems.
