SA artists will back Motsoeneng, to ensure that gains aren't eroded - Don Laka

South African artists held a press briefing to declare their public support for SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng on Monday.

Motsoeneng has been accused of censorship and dictatorial leadership at the public broadcaster.

Founder of the South African Music Movement, Don Laka is among the artists who has given his backing to Motsoeneng.

He says that South African artists want to ensure that, whatever happens, the gains facilitated by Motsoeneng, are not eroded.

Laka insists that South Africans cannot compromise a man who has made a positive contribution to increased local content and royalty rates.

We found in him, a man who listened, when we presented information that was relevant to the war of getting our music back onto radio.

We feel strongly that this is the man that we have to support.
