How feasible is free higher education in SA?

In a move that could reignite #FeesMustFall protests, university fees could rise as much as 6 percent in 2017 following a 2016 moratorium that has set institutions and the state back billions of rands.

Andile Tshona, spokesperson for the Commission of Inquiry into Higher Education, says he is pleased to announce that they received 179 written submissions from across all sectors of the society.

Tshona said there are different opinion on how to fund higher education.

All of the input from the submissions will determine the best way to fund higher education. So let’s not try to pre-empt if it’s feasible or not. Let us rather see what will come from the commission.
