North West MEC was a 'selfless leader'

Minister of Transport, Dipuo Peters, has sent her condolences to the family of as North West Social Development MEC, Kgakgamatso Nkewu, after she died in an accident on Thursday.

The accident occurred on the N18 highway near Vryburg, killing her and a cyclist instantly.

In a statement released on Friday, Peters described her as a 'selfless leader'. Her two bodyguards are recovering in hospital.

Recently, Limpopo Agriculture MEC, Joy Matshoge, was also killed in an accident on the N1 highway.
