The South African South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) has announced the South African team going to the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro next month.
Sascoc has set a target of winning 10 medals. Chad le Clos, Cameron Van Der Burgh, Wayde Van Niekerk and Caster Semenya are among the people that the country hopes will be able to bring medals home.
EWN sports reporter, Marc Lewis, says the target of 10 medals can be achieved.
Before anybody think we are being ridiculous, when I was in London for the 2012 Olympics, the journalistic team that was operating for BBC was bigger than Team SA. In relation to how things work here, it's still align with what South Africa can realistically achieve.— Marc Lewis, EWN reporter
I do believe that this is probably the best South African Olympic team that I can remember more than day times that has gone through to Olympic games. I think we might get more than 10.— Marc Lewis, EWN reporter
