'Don't be distracted, we have found our voice', says Pastor Evan Mawarire

Pastor Evan Mawarire has called for Zimbabweans to find ways to uphold momentum in speaking out against injustice in the country.

Earlier this month, Mawarire called for Zimbabweans to stay away from work in peaceful protests against the dire conditions under which citizens are subjected to under President Robert Mugabe.

Speaking from an undisclosed location in Johannesburg, he thanked Zimbabweans for standing up and speaking out against Mawarire said

702/Cape Talk's Redi Tlhabi spoke to Pastor Mawarire regarding active citizenry by Zimbabweans and finding a way forward in their cause for change in his home country.

Listen to the conversation below:

The internationally renowned activist said citizens are struggling to make ends meet and conduct their basic daily activities. He said graduates can't find jobs, families are struggling to pay their children's school fees and various people are unable to access basic healthcare services.

We have gotten to a place as Zimbabweans where the personal struggle has become too difficult to hide, we can't keep quiet anymore.

Pastor Evan Mawarire

I'm just a citizen. I want to assure my fellow citizens that we stand together in this. Don't be distracted, we have found our voice.

Pastor Evan Mawarire
