ANC playing electioneering race card says DA

There have been claims by the DA that the ANC is using a strategy of "dangerous racial mobilisation” as a campaigning tool in these municipal elections.

DA’s Mayoral Candidate for Ekhuruleni, Khaleb Cachalia, joins Stephen Grootes on the line to discuss the allegations..

One only has to look at President Zuma's racial utterances, when he says that black people would not be true to themselves if they do not vote for the ANC, and that Mmusi Maimane is a token black.

Cachalia says President Zuma spoke about black people selling their race out by voting for any party other than ANC.

When you talk about selling races out, you draw the line on racist grounds, and that is repugnant.

He insists the DA is the most racially diverse party in the country.

When you play the race card, it's a dangerous card to play.

Khusela Sangoni, ANC national spokesperson joined Stephen Grootes on the line and responded to these statements.

President Zuma has done nothing but go out there and state what we all know as fact. That the DA is a racist party, that is a haven for racists, neo racists and apartheid collaborators.

Mmusi Maimane who leads that party is unfortunately being used in order to be able to continue to preserve white privilege in this country.

Sangoni says the ANC is not being patronising in it's electioneering. The ANC is the only truly non-racial party, she says.
