At least 20 people were injured at the Phumulani Mall in Tembisa after a tornado hit the area on Tuesday.
Authorities say that more than 30 shops at the mall have been affected by the tornado strike, in addition to damage caused to a petrol station and local hospital.
The tornado and hail left severe structural damage, with trees uprooted, trucks blown onto their sides and roofs torn off buildings.
This is the second tornado to hit the province this week, with the first one in Magaliesburg on Monday.
