Listen to Bruce Whitfield interview “accidental entrepreneur” Ravi Naidoo, founder and Managing Director of Design Indaba and its founding company Interactive Africa:

Ravi Naidoo, creator of the Design Indaba Conference and its founding company Interactive Africa, annually brings the world’s top designers to Cape Town to celebrate the belief in a better world through creativity.

Design Indaba added R1.7-billion to the economy in the last five years, according to the University of Stellenbosch.

Naidoo, a scientist by training, completed an MBA at UCT in 1994 where he was nominated for the Nedbank MBA Student of the Year award.

Naidoo’s brainchild, Interactive Africa, has managed high-profile projects such as the “First African in Space Mission” as well as the marketing and pitch for South Africa’s bid to host the 2010 Football World Cup.

Naidoo, a travel and sports junky, has cleverly contrived to go to every major sports event in recent years.
