State reveals significant evidence against the Thulsie twins

The state has revealed evidence gathered against the Thulsie brothers, to prove that their arrest was not unlawful.

Xolani Gwala talked to EWN reporter, Barry Bateman, who was in court during the proceedings, about the evidence revealed by the state.

He also talks about the engagement with foreign law enforcement agencies, who have come across correspondence between a South African who goes by the name of Simba, and somebody outside the country who has close links to the Islamic state.

In this correspondent the Simba person makes it clear that he intends on carrying a terrorist attack, that he attempts to obtain instructions on how to build a bomb, and various instructions and assistance on how to carry out such an attack.

The investigator says they have managed to now positively link one of the Thulsie brothers to this Simba person.

They have recovered instructions on how to construct a bomb, and how to properly plant it for effect.

Brandon-Lee and Tony-Lee Thulsie were arrested two weeks ago for allegedly planning to bomb a US mission and Jewish cultural sites.

The twins are challenging lawlfullness of the their arrest.
