Former Bok on "fairytale" Lions win

Former Springbok and Golden Lions CEO, Rudolph Straeuli, described the Lions win against the Highlanders over the weekend as a "fairytale". The team will face the Hurricanes in Wellington, New Zealand, this Saturday.

We have 45 players and each and every player has contributed.

Rudolph Straeuli, Golden Lions Union CEO

Over 51 000 fans cheered the Lions on as they clinched victory. Just three years ago the team played in a relegation game.

Credit needs to go to Johan Ackerman, the coaching team and players. If we go the full hurdle, or when... then we would have played against all the New Zealand franchises.

Rudolph Straeuli

Straeuli thanked John Robbie for being at the game along with the "whole of Joburg". Listen here to the full interview.
