EOH, government and 702 partner to create 100 000 youth jobs

The EOH 702 Job Initiative, in partnership with National Treasury, intends to create 100 000 jobs by 2020 to curb youth unemployment.

The initiative, which was initially launched in 2012, calls businesses to pledge 3% or more of their workforce to learnership and internship programmes for unemployed youth. South Africa’s current unemployed youth rate is at a staggering 37.5%.

702's John Robbie spoke to fellow on-air personality and MC of the event, Xolani Gwala, regarding the issue.

Minister of Finance, Pravin Gordhan, and various big businesses attended the launch at Sandton on Friday.
