Rape Crisis joins efforts to fight rape

Kathleen Dey, Director at Rape Crisis, says the Rape Survivors' Justice Campaign looks to address the issue of a low conviction for rape in South Africa.

As it is Women’s Month, rape is one of the issues that still plagues women.

The low conviction for rape means that there is not enough incentive for rape survivors to report the crime. We have very low cases of rape being reported in our country.

Kathleen Dey, Director at Rape Crisis

Dey believes that there is a solution to the problem.

Government has already come up with the solution and that is to re-establish the Sexual Offences Court throughout South Africa.
