Vavi: ANC is suffering consequences of 'own goals'

Former Cosatu head Zwelinzima Vavi says the ANC has itself to blame for the overall drop in voter support in the municipal elections.

This comes as the ANC races against the DA to form coalition partnerships with smaller parties in hung metros.

According to Vavi, the opposition party will soon take the reins from the ruling party if it does not change its ways.

I have long warned that continuing with the own goals government and ANC leaders were scoring against themselves will one day lead us to a situation where we are saying 'President Zille'... and that day is not far now.

The trade unionist says that a large portion of the population has disengage and abstained from voting because of the ANC's ongoing antics and President Jacob Zuma's divisive politics.

It is the ANC constituencies that have decided that they have seen enough.
