#FeesMustFall students feel snubbed by Zuma's hasty visit

President Jacob Zuma, on Monday attended the Multi Stakeholder Forum on Universities aimed at finding solutions to the ongoing protests over fees in universities across the country.

The meeting has been held in Kempton Park and parents as well as students were expected to attend the event.

However, according to EWN reporter Bary Bateman, President Zuma left the meeting early to attend to other commitments at Luthuli House and students attending the meeting felt he had given them the brush off.

They feel they have been snubbed by number one.

Bateman says the President addressed the students and asked that the commission tasked to look into fees should be allowed to be completed into finding solutions.

The President said that money has been made available to immediately assist students on NSFAS and the 'missing middle' so that they would not have to experience a fees increment in 2017.

He condemned the protests at various campuses and especially the destruction of property, saying people need to rather enter discussions and talk.
