McKinsey & Co develops business case for gender diversity in the workplace

The Women Matter Africa Report by McKinsey & Co has highlighted the importance of gender diversity by representing women in leadership positions in the public and private sector.

The report, compiled by Lohini Moodley looked at over 200 companies on the continent and interviewed more than 30 women leaders. The aim of Moodley's research was to present a business case to to provide more arsenal to advocate for gender diversity.

This is not just a gender question but more of asking what the expectations are for the workplace that is coming up.

She said that is was important for companies to determine flexible working hours (such as working from home) to maintain employee productivity.

The companies who were doing better had more diversity and had flexible arrangements in terms of their workforce.
