Tuta-Me offers online platform to book tutors

Tuta-Me is a new entrant in the start-up technology space that offers a free market place to employ the services of an academic tutor.

The app allows users to locate their nearest verified tutor who is within their affordability index. Users can download the app and register their profiles and proceed.

On today's edition of Entrepreneur's Corner, 702/Cape Talk's Eusebius McKaiser (standing in for Redi Tlhabi) spoke to co-founder of the service offering, Ahbed Tau, on exactly what the app offers.

Tuta-Me took second prize at the "Hack Jozi" Challenge hosted by the City of Joburg, bagging R350 000 cash prize to bring their idea to life.

We don't operate any different from a tutoring company. We require background checks, we require all our tutors to submit criminal checks, we do qualification checks.

Ahbed Tau, co-founder of Tuta-Me

From a competitor's perspective, Deputy General Manager of Kumon SA, Rozanne Loney, said the app leaves consumers susceptible to compromising the quality of tutors.

It's not just the safety issue. It's also about the quality of your tutors. Parents are really looking for a quality solution.
