Goal setting essentials in an ever changing world

When we do things without planning, we are sabotaging ourselves, says creative parenting expert, Nikki Bush. She says planning keeps you on course in achieving your goals and objectives.

We are living in a world where life requires continuous learning. If you are not keeping up, you become irrelevant very quickly, and that is why it is so important to take planning into account, says Bush.

If we don't sit down and plan, and suddenly tomorrow comes and...the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow isn't there and you wonder why. The reality is there was no plan

Nikki Bush - Parenting expert

According to Bush, life as we know it has changed and this requires constant improvement of our talent and skills.

She says people need to know the dynamics of networking and putting themselves out there and learning to be flexible.

She emphasised the importance of 'pausing', allowing oneself to step back and get some perspective. If we don't take stock periodically, we could get lost in a career and lose sight of important things in life.

Things are changing quite rapidly so even with a long term view you, have to be adaptable and you have to be flexible because the one thing we can be sure of is that life doesn't unfold in a straight line
