Owner of Portia's One Stop Events, Portia Esau, hopes to take it all at the 2016 702 Small Business Awards coming up.

In a nomination from a happy client named Bridget, she claimed that Portia made her feel like 'her only client and your business is worth gold'.

With a love for cooking and baking through the years, she left her full-time job to start her business in 2012.

The business offers creative concepts for kiddies parties, weddings and funerals. Her plans for her business expansion include a fully-equippped kitchen.

I've had an interest in beautiful things and loved cooking and baking. I used to do it for family events and it just grew gradually through the years
