Prasa's Popo Molefe says R80 million went to ANC from Prasa train contract

The rail agency Prasa has now been linked to money funneled to the ANC from one of it's contracts, but the ANC has rejected claims that it received R80 million from proceeds of a locomotive tender.

News24 investigative journalist Pieter-Louis Myburgh, joins CapeTalk's Pippa Hudson, standing in for John Maytham, on the line.

it's all linked to Spanish built trains that proved too tall for our rail network.

Prasa chair Popo Molefo has gone to court in a bid to overturn that contract awarded to Swifambo Rail Leasing, for those unusable trains in 2012.

Myburgh says it is now a year into the investigation, and hours of probing by Prasa investigators.

Now Mr Molefe has filed court papers in which it is expressly claimed that the ANC has benefited to the tune of some R80 million from this controversial train contract.
