SA's star opera singer, Pretty Yende, gears up for debut album

South African operatic soprano, Pretty Yende, is set to launch her debut album with Sony Classical International on 16 September 2016.

The album (titled A Journey) has been described as a labour of love that celebrates her milestones along her journey which has seen her rise to the top of the elite industry with unparalleled speed.

The award-winning classical music sensation, who lives in Milan (Italy), has continued to fly the South African flag high with her performances across the United States and Europe.

Born in the small rural town of Piet Retief in the Eastern Cape. She pursued her studies at the University of Cape Town, it was only a matter of time before she started collecting awards at the world's most prestigious awards.

Speaking to 702's Azania Mosaka, she said that South Africa has a lot of talent that should be nurtured.
