United States President Barack Obama, has cancelled a meeting with controversial Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, who had earlier called him a "son of a whore".
Duterte was responding to the US president's promise to raise the issue of drug-related extra-judicial killings in the Philippines at their meeting.
Within two months in office, more than 2400 people have been killed in extra-judicial killings, government executions of drug dealers without judicial proceedings.
According to EWN Hong Kong correspondent, Steve Vines, the enormous drug problem in the country continues to escalate.
