Marianne Thamm reflects on her new book 'Hitler, Verwoerd, Mandela and me'

Columninst, editor and author Marianne Thamm spoke to CapeTalk/702's Eusebius Mckaiser about her new book Hitler, Verwoerd, Mandela and me.

The book was launched last week in Cape Town.

In her book,Thamm writes about her unconventional life story. She talks about her heterosexual German father and a largely illiterate Portuguese mother and how Hitler, Verwoerd and Mandela affected everybody's life.

Speaking to Eusebius she says the book is also about her revenge on the 20th century that she hated and a celebration of the 21st century where we find ourselves today.

You know whats interesting about having kids and having to work at the same time, is that these boxes arrived with books and i kinda opened and it almost didn't feel like its mine... And then i had to write a story about Sars and then i had to take someone dancing and buy groceries so its kinda like well whatever....

Marianne Thamm, Associate Editor of The Daily Maverick
