Afternoon Drive's Xolani Gwala catches up with South Africa's multi award winning Afrop pop artist Ntando Bangani.
Many remember Ntando for his second album, Imvelaphi, which garnered several awards, including Song of the Year at both the South African Music Awards and Metro FM Awards, for the amazing track Dali Wam.
Ntando, who hasn't been in the public eye much of late, describes the music industry as a puff and pass and says there are lot of lessons he has learnt in his journey.
First thing that I have learnt is that everything happens really for a reason, and nothing lasts forever and nothing ever goes to plan exactly the way you planned it.— Ntando Bangani, Afro pop artist
I believe this industry works in circles. You might be on top today, but it don't mean that you will be on top forever. It doesn't mean it won't get back, but it also do not mean you will be on top forever.— Ntando Bangani, Afro pop artist
Ntando says he has recorded three albums which were never released due to disagreements with another record company.
He says artists should utilise their time well while they are still at the top.
