South Africans Doing Great Things

Empowering others through coffee and cake

Mhlangabezi and Shannon Nombewu have combined their interests to offer affordable coffee and cakes for people, and to empower people through their collaborative businesses.

Last year, the husband and wife team started Boys Coffee Club. At that time, Shannon Nombewu was also running a growing cake business, the Girls Cake Club.

According to Mhlangabezi Nombewu, the founders of the business saw a gap in the black market which needed to be filled.

The business now provides services at sports events, functions and various markets.

The Nombewus and Sbu Papu, Boys Coffee Club Cape Town Regional Manager, spoke to #NightTalk's Lovelyn Nwadeyi about the growth of the Boys Coffee Club, and the value it has added to communities.
