Kids expect Sponge Bob; theatre shows 50 Shades of Grey

California’s West Wind Solano Drive-In was in hot water this past week after children expecting to see Sponge Bob 2 got to see 50 Shades of Grey also.

The theater’s two screens are both visible from the main parking area and children watching Sponge Bob 2 on the one screen got an eyeful of 50 Shades of Grey on the other.

Parents were not amused that their curious children were treated to 50 Shades' steamy scenes.

“The kids, probably, loved it! Although I’m sure they weren’t focusing on the man who lives in a pineapple under the sea,” says Vestact MD Paul Theron.

KFC bright sparks cause oil spill. Makes it worse by washing with water

“The 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill was nothing, absolutely nothing, compared to the Great Southdale Spill of 2015,” jokes Theron.

KFC employees tossed 25 litres of dirty cooking oil on their own drive-through driveway in Southdale, Johannesburg last week. Staff compounded their mistake by using water and dishwashing liquid to in an attempt to wash the oil onto the main road.

This, predictably and very quickly, caused a five car pileup, many injuries and a lawsuit.

Top LG exec arrested for sabotaging Samsung washing machines at trade fair

Police arrested the Head of LG’s Home Appliance Division this past week.

Samsung is accusing Jo shong Gin of deliberately sabotaging its washing machines at an international trade show in Germany.

“Video footage shows the LG big shot doing some rather energetic door testing,” says Theron.

South Korean prosecutors imposed a travel ban on Gin; accusing him of a failing to observe numerous demands to attend investigations.

“He’s going to have to plead temporary insanity brought on by a combination of washing day and going to a trade fair,” quips Theron.

Every Friday on 702/CapeTalk’s The Money Show (from 6.00pm to 7.00pm) presenter Bruce Whitfield interviews Vestact MD Paul Theron about the week’s business blunders. Theron’s jokes don’t always translate well into text, so we’ve added the audio.
