EFF pledges support to #FeesMustFall protests, launches scathing attack on Zuma

The Economic Freedom Fighters has pledged support for #FeesMustFall protesters and called on South Africans to rally behind the cause.

Speaking from the party's headquarters in Braamfontein, CIC (Commander-in-Chief) Julius Malema asked police officers and security personnel to refrain from taking action against the students as their children stand to benefit when free higher education comes into effect.

Free education is possible, what is needed is the political will from leadership. It is time now to defend South Africa.

Julius Malema, EFF Commander-in-Chief

Malema announced that he would lead a march against President Jacob Zuma's leadership in Pretoria in 2nd November 2016.

He said that the march would demand the following:

  • free quality education and higher education
  • the immediate departure of the Gupta family
  • the resignation of President Jacob Zuma
  • the resignation of NPA (National Prosecuting Authority) head, Shaun Abrahams
