The Friday Stand-In 2016

Rich Mkhondo plans to ask ANC for update on introspection after election losses

Founder of The Media and Writers Firm, content development hub, Rich Mkhondo hits the airwaves as the #FridayStandIn for the Redi Tlhabi show.

Mkhondo is one of the first black journalism graduates from Rhodes University. During his years at Rhodes, he founded the Black Students Movement.

Many remember him as the chief communications officer and spokesman for the Fifa World Cup 2010.

His previous jobs include heading of Corporate Affairs at MTN Group and MD of Ogilvy Public Relations.

He says he hopes to speak to the African National Congress (ANC) to find out how far are they with the introspection, following their largest support loss since 1994, during the 2016 local government elections.

I really think accountability is gone. Our politicians are no longer accountable to use. They are accountable to their parties, cronies and fans. That issue of civic duty is no longer there.

Rich Mkhondo, founder of The Media and Writers Firm

I am hoping that on Friday I will get someone from the ANC to tell us if they have introspected and what has the exercise been.
