Music guru hails Bob Dylan after Nobel Prize win

Music guru Sean Brokensha says Bob Dylan has deservedly been recognised as the 2016 Nobel Literature Prize winner, amid debate about the artist's worthiness.

Dylan has scooped one of the world’s most prestigious cultural awards, but some aren't convinced that he deserves it.

According to Brokensha, Dylan is a constantly evolving artist and a razor sharp social commentator.

As a lyricist, he is virtually beyond parallel in the world of music.

He says the the Swedish Academy have dubbed Dylan 'the greatest living poet'.

Brokensha says the singer-songwriter has contributed to the world as a thought-leader and musician.

The music guru referenced some of what he believes are Dylan's most incandescent lyrics.

He says Dylan's lyrics, likened to literature, have endured through the years and still carry a universal message.

Good literature endures, irrespective of how you deliver it. The words and the truth remain. That is the strength of Bob Dylan.
