Rand Water has started reducing water supply to various municipalities in an effort to stem water usage and avoid implementing Level 3 water restrictions.
This comes after residents continue to ignore the current water restrictions with water levels at dams at worrying levels.
Minister for Water and Sanitation Nomvula Mokonyane has urged residents to prioritise using water sparingly.
702's John Robbie spoke to Rand Water's Chief Operations Officer, Sipho Mosai, regarding the severity of the matter.
