State capture report will be in hands of new Public Protector

Former Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela did not to release her much anticipated state capture report last Friday after President Jacob Zuma and Co Operative Governance Minister Des van Rooyen brought court applications to halt the release.

The High Court in Pretoria postponed hearing the two applications to November 1.

The new Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane started on Monday and EWN reporter Barry Bateman says her first day involved being introduced to her staff.

Bateman says the report was kept in Cape Town over the weekend in the Speaker of the National Assembly Baleka Mbete's office.

He says the report will be handed over to the new public Protector on Monday to be kept under lock and key in terms of the court order.

At the moment it is not clear when the report will be released, says Bateman.
