Court postpones bail application of Wits student leader Mcebo Dlamini

The bail application of former Wits SRC president, Mcebo Dlamini, was postponed in the Johannesburg magistrate's court to allow for his address to be verified.

According to EWN reporter Dineo Bendile, Dlamini appeared in court today on five charges, malicious damage to property, assault, theft, public violence and possession of a dangerous weapon.

His bail application will be heard on Tuesday.

He was arrested on Sunday morning at his residence in Park Town for his involvement in the FeesMustFall protests.

Meanwhile, students are protesting in Park Town against the curfew which allows students to be at the residences between 10pm and 6am.

EWN reporter Clement Manyathela says there was a clash between police and student protesters on Sunday night.

That's exactly what happened this morning as well. Some students from the residences around Park Town barricaded roads. They were registering their dissatisfaction with the university to implement that curfew.
