Magashule and Pillay lawyers meet with NPA boss

Lawyers of former Sars commissioner, Oupa Magashule and former Sars deputy commissioner, Ivan Pillay have met with National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head Shaun Abrahams and made representations asking him review their fraud charges.

On Friday Gordhan's lawyer made it clear his client would not be making representation to NPA as Gordhan has no confidence in the NPA boss and any attempt would be 'pointless'.

Pillay, Magashule and Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan are charged over Pillay's early retirement.

According to EWN reporter Mandy Wiener, Abrahams Gordhan has been invited to make representations by 5pm tomorrow.

He has also invited the head of the Hawks Berning Ntlemeza and Commissioner of Sars Tom Moyane to make representations by 5 o'clock tomorrow. And Abrahams says he will consider all these presentations on whether to prosecute these men.
