Tshwane City: We're doing everything to address Hammanskraal water crisis

Afternoon Drive listeners living Hammanskraal continue to complain about unclean and contaminated water containing animal and human faeces with children becoming ill form drinking it.

On Tuesday City of Tshwane MMC for Infrastructure, Darryl Moss, promised that the City will resolve the problem as soon as it possible can.

He says they are providing water tanks to needy communities, and are now approaching the military for assistance.

We are still struggling to supply water to thousands of people with water due to this crisis.

On Tuesday Moss said contaminated water in Hammanskraal is due to cable theft.

He said a 'professional group of people' ripped of meters of main supply cables last week, and the water purification plant was offline during repairs from late Wednesday night until late Saturday night.

Questions have been raised about poor quality water in the area for a number of years.
