Mcebo Dlamini denied bail

Former University of Witwatersrand SRC (Student Representative Council) leader, Mcebo Dlamini, will remain in police custody after his bail application was denied.

The #FeesMustFall leader appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday morning after his arrest on Sunday.

Dlamini faces five charges against him including malicious damage to property, assault and theft in protests which have seen students across the country clash with police and security personnel in their demand for free higher education for all.
