Telkom pledged on Wednesday to provide data to students who cannot access academic materials due to the ongoing students protest.
Some universities are making lecture material available online while campus unrest continues.
Most students, however, will struggle to afford the extra data costs.
However, students on Telkom’s mobile network will be able to access those lectures without paying for data.
