The MTV Africa Music Awards: What to expect

It’s that time of the year again! The MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs)2016 are here, celebrating African and international talent and achievement.

The MAMAs will be broadcast from the Ticketpro Dome and comedian Trevor Noah will be hosting this year’s event.

Noah already has people in stiches saying “Whooo whoa! Don’t be scared, that is the African noise that we make”.

Performances feature US rapper Future, Babes Wodumo, Cassper Nyovest and more.

Unfortunately for Micasa fans, the band will not be able to attend the ceremony but had a competition on Twitter asking their fans to go on their behalf.

The MAMAs recognises and rewards musicians and achievers who have made the most impact on the African music and youth culture over the previous year.
