Tshwane University Technology (TUT) says it is saddened by the passing of Fees Must Fall student activist Lesego Benjamin Phehla.
According to TUT spokesperson Willa de Ruyter students were marching from Soshanguve Campus to the North Campus when a driver lost control and injured four students.
Three other sustained minor injuries.
Phehla was a final year ICT student and the chairperson of the ICT Student Faculty Council, playing a huge role in liaising and advising the dean on student issues.
President Jacob Zuma has also sent his condolences to the family and friends of Phehla.
